Membership & Fees

At Luna Theatrics we try our best to keep our fees to a minimum but realise that Musical Theatre Productions require a large budget so we ask for the following contributions to help with our production costs including the hire of our rehearsal space, costumes, set, props and other costs.

Becoming a Luna Theatrics Member

Membership is mandatory for all cast members and production team involved in a production to help cover the cost of set, costumes and props etc. 

The annual membership fee is current £25.

Exceptions to this rule include: 

Production Team/Crew members that are only involved during a limited part of the production process e.g. a lighting person whose role is limited only to Show Week

Musicians and Band members – as we recognise and deeply appreciate their voluntary contributions to our productions despite that many (if not all) are professional musicians outside of Luna Theatrics

Any other exceptions that are deemed appropriate and voted as such by the acting committee

Examples of roles that ARE required to pay membership and become a member:

• Any member of the cast of a production 
• Any member of a production team (unless exempt as above) e.g.
  • Director
  • Producer
  • Musical director
  • Stage Manager
  • Choreographer

Member Benefits

Membership grants you access to our Luna Theatrics WhatsApp Community which includes a members group chat, updates from committee and any announcements we may have relating to socials, productions and other events. 

Weekly Rehearsal Fees

The weekly rehearsal fee is adjusted based on the number of people involved in each production. It is calculated to cover the hire cost of the rehearsal space and works into the total budget of the production. Historically, this has never exceeded our maximum of £5 per week (this includes both rehearsals)

This fee is mandatory for any individuals who attend rehearsals regularly.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Cast members 
• Production Crew members who are regularly present at rehearsals e.g. backstage crew, set designer, stage hands etc. 

Weekly fees are optional for specific members of the Production Team as a recognition of the extensive hard work that they contribute to the Production on a voluntary basis.

These members are still required to pay the annual Membership Fee and are encouraged to pay weekly subs, but only if they wish to. 

These roles are:

• Director 
• Musical Director
• Producer
• Stage Manager 
• Choreographer 

Musicians/Band members and any other individuals involved in the production who do not regularly attend rehearsals are also exempt from paying weekly fees as the hire cost of the rehearsal space does not apply to them.

Other exceptions to this may be allowed if voted and agreed upon by the current acting committee.
